Find ten rational numbers between -2/5 and 1/2

Solution: The given numbers are -2/5 and 1/2

The LCM of both denominators is 10.

So we will multiply the denominators by such a number which gives us a multiple of 10.

Multiplying both the numerator and denominator of -2/5 by 4, we get

-2/5 = -2/5 × 4/4 = -8/20

Multiplying both the numerator and denominator of 1/2 by 10, we get

1/2 = 1/2 × 10/10 = 10/20

Thus, we will now find ten rational numbers between -8/20 and 10/20.

The numbers will be -7/20, -6/20, -5/20, -4/20, -3/20, -2/20, -1/20, 0, 1/20, 2/20

Thus, ten rational numbers between -2/5 and 1/2 can be taken as:

-7/20, -6/20, -5/20, -4/20, -3/20, -2/20, -1/20, 0, 1/20, 2/20
