Find the perimeter of each of the following shapes:
(a) A triangle of sides 3 cm, 4 cm and 5 cm
(b) An equilateral triangle of side 9 cm
(c) An isosceles triangle with equal sides of 8 cm each and the third side of 6 cm.
To find the perimeter of each of the following shapes:
(a) A triangle with sides 3 cm, 4 cm, and 5 cm:
Perimeter = Sum of all sides Perimeter = 3 cm + 4 cm + 5 cm Perimeter = 12 cm
So, the perimeter of the triangle is 12 cm.
(b) An equilateral triangle with a side of 9 cm:
An equilateral triangle has all three sides of equal length. So, in this case, all sides are 9 cm each.
Perimeter = Sum of all sides Perimeter = 9 cm + 9 cm + 9 cm Perimeter = 27 cm
So, the perimeter of the equilateral triangle is 27 cm.
(c) An isosceles triangle with equal sides of 8 cm each and the third side of 6 cm:
An isosceles triangle has two sides of equal length, and one side is different.
Perimeter = Sum of all sides Perimeter = 8 cm + 8 cm + 6 cm Perimeter = 22 cm
So, the perimeter of the isosceles triangle is 22 cm.
